Just like the usual, we had another unusual, in that our foundation at RSC could not be held in december. As the number of officer trainees had gone up to beyond 300, it was decided to split the AFP into two batches. We started our Foundation programme in june 2011.
When we reached baroda, I wondered if I could manage the trying PT, the pathetic food, the studies n exams alongside my civil service prep. But, things started to ease over a period of time.
Our day started with a jog and PT. Occasionally, we spent mornings at Badminton court also. Breakfast was the meal of the day... Literally... Classes from 9:00 till 16:30, followed by spending 3-4 hrs at the badminton court. Even now i wish i could relive those days. On the social front, we made friends for a lifetime with fellow probationers and officers.. My roomie VIPUL and I spent time discussing music, people, movies and regular guy stuff :-P
Made great friends with Shobhit, shivaranjani, janmejay, Jayant, Banugade, Fanindra et al... But the camaraderie of our batch resulted in ensuring that I & Piyush played the finals of Doubles Badminton, though we lost.. On literary side, tried my hand at poetry, book reviews and others, but could not make much out of them.. Also lost my Nokia cellphone which enabled me to go for a GALAXY S2..
The best part of my stay at Baroda could be the moment of glory when I conducted the grand QUIZ. People remember that even now.. Culturals ensued where I & Ritu sang "Abhi na jao chhodkar ke dil abhi bhara nahi". Truly, the stay at Baroda deserves a special place in my life..
